19th c. Pie/Cake Riser
A late 19th c. pie/riser in original paint.
Constructed entirely of pine wood with tiny iron nail joining. The legs are carved and formed round from the block and joined each to the top with a single iron nail.
Retains a wonderfully preserved surface. Overall excellent condition with some minor warping being consistent with age and use.
Used to elevate a pie or cake when placed in a basket for transport to elevate. A quintessential piece of Midwestern history.
