19th c. Painting of a Young Girl

A 19th C. painting of a distinguished, young, unknown sitter.

 

Oil on eastern white pine board medium and sits in its original gilt frame with a Victorian black overcoat applied sometime around 1890.

 

The young lady is portrayed seated in a paint decorated Windsor side chair along side books and an inkwell sitting atop a side table with generous turnings. Very well executed with a striking blue background accented with swag and tassles.

 

Remains in excellent as-descended condition with no restoration. Vermont origin. Ca. 1825. 10"T x 7 3/4"W.
