19th c. Rope Top
A 19th c. rope top in original condition.
Carved from a single body of walnut wood with chip carved decoration.
Three carved fins produce grooves in which three seperate small strands of twine lays in the correct angle for closing and forming of the rope.
Beautifully worn with a fine color and working surface.
Excellent condition. New England origin. Ca. 1830. 3"T.
