Early Burl Bowl
A nicely turned burl bowl in original surface and finish.
Constructed from a choice ash burl growth and turned on a lathe with a quality exterior profile consisting of step turnings and slow lathe marks tapering to a formed footed base. Generations of use and 1/4" shrinkage have produced an undulated rim.
The interior shows signs of use from food use with cut marks and staining forming an extremely rich color and surface quality.
Remains in an excellent state of condition with surface elements and color being of the finest quality.
New England origin. Ca. 1780-1820. 7 1/4"W.
