Early Piggin
A 19th c. piggin in original tomato red pigmented paint.
Constructed entirely of pine wood with a tapered profile. Pine wood staves encompass the body and are reinforced by iron chisel cut and riveted bands. A single stave produces a shapely handle terminating in a lolipop cutout.
As-descended surface elements remain present and rich, producing a soft appearance with exceptional color. Superb original condition.
Pennsylvania in origin. Ca. 1800-1820. 12"T x 8 1/2"W.
