Miniature Game Board (SOLD)
A 19th c. miniature gameboard in oiriginal paints.
Constructed from a single plank of pine wood. Each playing square is pierced with a hole for play with wooden pins, likely a clever way of ensuring uninterrupted play.
A vibrant painted playing field was laid out using a straight edge and compass and painted in bright red paint with the opposing field left unpainted.
Remains in overall very good original condition given age and use with a quality painted surface that has acquired shrinkage, anomalies and patina. Scarcely found on todays marketplace...
Northeast origin. Ca. 1870. 7" x 7"
