Miniature Shenandoah Valley Basket
A miniature Shenandoah Valley handled basket in old finished surface.
Constructed by a competent worker, the maker utilized black ash wood splint weavers being scraped smooth in preparation for weaving. Its body is made proportionally close to a full size working basket in which plain plaiting makes up its weaving style. Two flat rim ribs with double coiling make up the rim construction.
An exciting and eccentric handle adorns the body. Boasting a triple rim rib structure, the woven handle beautifully emanates from its body with delicacy.
Remains in excellent original condition with a fine surface exhibiting quality oxidized color and characteristics. Charming in size and form.
