Quebec House Model (SOLD)

Quebec House Model (SOLD)

An early 20th c. Quebec house model in polychrome paints.

Constructed of pine wood throughout its entirety. Its body is joined with butt joints and early iron brads and festures cutouts on either end conforming to appropriate architecture. Applied wooden shutters are glued in place accenting hand painted windows. Paint decoration mimics a stone extrior.

Its roof is carved from the solid and is removable accessing a hollow interior, possibly for storage as a humidor and retains fabulous red paint.

Remains in superlative original condition with fine paint surface elements.

Due to the architecture of this model, its origins are likely rooted around Quebec City along the St. Lawrence River. Ca. 1900. 5"L x 4"T x 3 1/2"D.
