19th c. Spice Chalice
A beautiful 19th c. spice chalice made of lathe turned pine wood. A removable cover is adorned with a knob finial for removal.
Retains an attractive and vibrant painted surface in original bittersweet pigmented paint and adorned with black highlights. An original varnish finish is present with historic elements and craquelure.
Survives in an overall excellent as-descended state of condition. Northeast origin, New England or Pennsylvania. 6"T. Ca. 1890.
